The set opens at the top. The Sphinx observatory stands on its rock spur above the
Jungfraujoch, with the Aletsch Glacier, the longest in the Alps, curving away below it. The
Eiger Express gondola crosses beneath the Eiger's north face on the way up. On the Schilthorn
the cable car climbs to Piz Gloria, the revolving summit restaurant.
Then Grindelwald and First: the green valley under its limestone walls, the village spread
below its rock peaks, the gondola over the meadows, the cliff walk round its rock outcrop and
the Bachalpsee holding the peaks in still water. In the Lauterbrunnen valley, Staubbach Falls
drops nearly 300 m off the cliff behind the church. Inside the mountain, Trümmelbach Falls
carries the meltwater of the Eiger, the Mönch and the Jungfrau through bowls it has worn into
the rock.
The set ends on the railways - a mountain train window, a red train through a snowy village,
a viaduct on the line from St. Moritz - and on Interlaken from the air, between its two lakes,
with paragliders over the town.
